White sands, turquoise lagoons, blue skys, tropic forests, and very warm and friendly people. Mauritius is not exactly around the corner with an eleven-hour flight from Switzerland. But you get off in a completely different world. When the days become shorter and the temperatures drop in the northern hemisphere, in Mauritius summer just begins and the frangipani blossoms bloom in all their glory.
The island is surrounded by a coral reef, which acts as a natural breakwater. Therefore, you can swim in the warm, crystal-clear water and do not have to be afraid of any sharks. As Mark Twain once said correctly: “Mauritius was made first, and then heaven; and heaven was copied after Mauritius.”
I let the pictures speak for themselves!
