Rise and Shine: Starting the day with Positivity

Writer: Nadine ReinfriedNadine Reinfried

Waking up has never been my strong suit—I often feel like I've been hit by a truck. To turn my mornings around, I’ve embraced a simple yet powerful ritual that sets the tone for an energized day: Positivity!

Positivity helps to shift your focus from problems to possibilities, reduces stress, and empowers you to approach challenges with resilience and clarity. Changing your mindset can truly change your life.

Here are two simple tips to bring more positivity into your daily routine:

Listen to Morning Affirmations

Spend 5-10 minutes each morning listening to positive affirmations, for example on YouTube. It’s a small practice, but it has a big impact and it’s a great way to start the day with good energy and focus on what’s possible. Some of my favorite creators include Maddy Madison and Inner Garden. Their affirmations range from empowering to soothing, perfect for different moods or intentions. Even if you don’t fully believe them yet, the repetition helps them sink in and create new, empowering thought patterns.

The 6-Minute Diary: A Game-Changer for Gratitude

A couple of months ago, I’ve started using the 6-Minute Diary pur by Dominik Spenst. It’s a beautifully structured journal that encourages you to focus on gratitude, reflect on positive experiences, and set meaningful intentions. Each entry only takes a few minutes, but it’s incredibly impactful.

Here’s what a typical entry looks like:

  • Morning gratitude: Writing down three things you’re grateful for starts your day with appreciation.

  • Daily intention: This gives you clarity on what truly matters and how you want to approach the day.

  • Evening reflection: At the end of the day, you note down the highlights and what you learned. It’s a lovely way to close the day on a positive note.

Why These Practices Work

Starting the day with positivity rewires your brain. Affirmations and gratitude journaling don’t just make you feel good—they shape how you perceive challenges and opportunities. Over time, they build resilience and a sense of inner peace that’s hard to shake.

But the shift in mindset doesn't happen on its own. It means continuous work, every day! Small steps can lead to big changes. Why not try starting your day with positivity and see where it takes you?
